Deepest condolences for the tragedy of the unfortunate Kanjuruhan, Editor Faisal

The heartbreaking tragedy of football occurred at the Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang, in the Arema match against Persebaya on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 20:00 WIB. Against the backdrop of a disappointed audience for Arema's 3-2 Persebaya defeat after 23 years of never losing at home. The audience also rushed into the stadium until the outnumbered officers were overwhelmed to secure the chaotic period so that the police fired tear gas which instead became a disaster for the audience.

Errors in security procedures were a major factor in this incident, in fact the use of tear gas in stadiums is strictly prohibited by FIFA, but in Indonesia this regulation may not be heeded. The audience was hit by tear gas in the South Tribune causing the atmosphere to become noisy and panicked, trying to save themselves from the inside of the stadium, but unfortunately the exit door was closed because the audience was jostling each other to get out so that many were squeezed together, eyes sore, exhausted. breath, fall and be trampled to kill hundreds of people. The screams and cries of female victims, children, teenagers and parents when they felt the death they heard became a horrific atmosphere by the witness of the survivors who recounted the incident on Twitter.
